My 4th of July

Yes, happy birthday America and all that. It's strange because I can't remember the last time we weren't at the lake cabin for the 4th, and thinking about everyone there watching the inter-lake fireworks competition made me miss home the most since I've been here.
For my 4th of July, a friend of Melanies from New Zealand who is nannying in the French part for a few months came to spend the day with us. Her name is Alexia.
First, we went to this place called Monte Tamaro, which you have to take a cable car to access and takes you really high into the hills. It's a hiking area/adventure park but we didn't have much time there so we took some pictures and enjoyed the view.

After this, we went to a place called Foxtown which is this humongous outlet mall on lots of fancy stores. In the evening, Melanie, Nevio, Alexia and I went for a walk through Bellinzona.

The inevitable gelato.

We did some rock climbing and picture taking.

I did a little extra rock climbing.

Then we scooted along this wall to get to some rocks in the middle of this mini lake.

The reflections are kind of cool here.

On the walk back, we found an alleyway and these sketchy-looking kids, whoever they are.

Then when we got home, Marie-Helen surprised me with some sparklers, and that was how I finished my Swiss 4th of July.
